Door County and Heavy Hearts.

Bo is coming home.
There is nothing more the Doctors can do for him.
He has spent the last year fighting with all his might to beat this disease.
They are getting his pain under control, and he will be on his way home to be surrounded by his family and friends... to say his goodbyes and to see the place where he lived and was loved for his entire 13 years... and drift peacefully away with the angels awaiting.
If you could just lift up Bo and his Mom Annika.
There is just nothing more to say.
We are all heart broken.
We all love them so.

  1. Angie, I started reading your blog about a year ago. I live in Colorado and my husband and I have been lucky enough to visit Door County three times. Twice in the fall and once in the summer. We have stayed in a cottage in Sister Bay and have fallen in love with the area. I don't remember exactly how I found your blog but have always enjoyed reading about your shop and the activities in D.C.. Your posts about Bo have really touched my heart as we lost our 29 year old son to Leukemia (AML) in 2008. Our first trip to Sister Bay was 4 months after he passed, we just needed to get away to regroup and calm our souls. We have prayed for Bo (and his family) that he could recover and be healthy. Like we had to do with our son, Jason, we will change our prayers that Bo no longer be in pain and that he be surrounded by love and laughter as he leaves this life and continues on his journey. I know that Bo's family will find comfort in all of their memories of his too short life. Will you please pass along our thoughts to his mother, let her know that there are more people praying for them than she could ever realize. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you in that wonderful community.

    1. Deb, I will pass this along. I'm so sorry for your own heart break. I have so much more to say to you, but just can't yet. Thank you so much for your post, and again... I will pass this on.

  2. So so sad. :( Some people have just too great a purpose for this Earth. He is one of them!

  3. Hey Angie...I'm sitting here with tears streaming down my face.Blogs seem like they should discuss happy things. This is so sad. I think of my two daughters, and can't even begin to imagine what Bo's mom must be feeling. Such heartache. And like the person just before me posted, sometimes children have learned all they need to learn in this life in their young years. And so move onto greater things in the next life. Who knows? No one gets why God takes the young. I wish you all peace in this sad sad time. Even though I don't know this family, my thoughts and prayers are with you all. God bless this young little soul! Take care! Anne Cerek
