Most Interesting Find!

On a lark last week John and I headed out toward the UP to visit some antique/junk places we hadn't been to before. We really found some fun things, but this was the most interesting.

I may later ask myself why I didn't keep this, but for now it is for sale. (yikes). Samson Airlines, Chicago. I've googled and searched a bit, but nothing is coming up at all for the airline. If you look to the inside, right side of the basket there is a place that looks like it would hold a rolled up newspaper... perhaps?

There are four "thingy's" that would let another something hook into it.
Neat suitcases, BTW.

And a close up of the tag.

Cool, huh.

Any ideas?

  1. Hi, I just came over from Chippy Shabby and became so curious about your wire basket. I googled Lamson Air-Line, with an L instead of an S. There is info out there, it was a "wire carrier" not with planes; very interesting. I don't think i could part with it, it's wonderful.Come for a visit when you can.

  3. It is terrific! It's a cash basket. Go to ids.u-net.com/cash/lamsons.htm and then click on cash baskets on the sidebar...there is a picture of one very similar to yours.

  4. Now they all have me very curious.
When you thought it was airlines (it is in fact air line, very different) my first thought was I have heard with ABCs new retro show about PanAm, airline items are going to be HOT this summer.
